Lt. (T/Maj.) Reedy commanded a Company during the attack from San Lugo to Santerno on 9 April 1945. During the crossing of the Frattura Canal, his company met stubborn resistance from enemy strongpoints on the immediate front and right flank. without hesitation and with complete disregard for his own personal safety, he led his company in a direct assault on the enemy, inflicting heavy casualties. He then led a charge on an enemy Mk IV tank sited directly in the line of advance which attempted to withdraw but was effectively put out of action, enabling the advance to continue. By his display of great personal courage, determination and utter disregard for his own safety, Lt. (T/Maj.) Reedy inspired his men in the face of bitter opposition and his personal leadership was a major factor in successfully gaining the objective.(London Gazette 18/10/1945) The National Archives.
