  • Private Bromley was the son of William John and Annie Bromley, of Limehills, Southland, New Zealand.

    The following is from Dewsbury District News dated Saturday the 29th July 1916: "One of the " Anzacs" Private Wm Bromley, Otago Light Infantry, was laid to rest at Batley Cemetery on Saturday, The deceased who was 25 years of age, died of wounds in Tooting Military Hospital, and his body was brought to the residence of his uncle, Mr John Bedford, of Providence Street. Bromley was a member of an old Batley family." AWMM
