Sally apologises for her mistake - the grave is at Eernegem Communal Cemetery in Belgium. She has asked me to make this point on her behalf.

My Uncle Ron is buried in a village in Poland someday they may bring him home to his family. Two boys from Ohope went to his grave last year and put poppies on the graves of the three airmen killed in that raid. The graves are looked after very well by the village people. Ron was married to my Mother.

I am sad never to have known my Uncle Ron who fought bravely in harsh conditions in the air war in the Western Desert (Middle East) for 18 months with 73 RAF Squadron, before being re-posted to England on medical grounds, then killed in action over Belgium on only his 3rd operation with 485 (RNZAF) Squadron.
