    • Brother of Charles Herbert Butterworth (12/302), of Thames, who also served during World War I. AWMM
    • Half brother of Harold Butterworth shot down over France 1916. Public - Cheryl - Other relative - 26 April 2018 - Via searches of historic births deaths and marriages. Both sons of Benjamin M Butterworth. Newspaper report "Brothers at War" (ref Papers Past) referring to Henry Benjamin Butterworth; Charles H. Butterworth (noting Charles H. served at Gallipoli and serving in France) ; and noting Flt Lt Harold Butterworth shot down over France. Henry Benjamin Butterworth was born in 1886; Charles Herbert Butterworth in 1888 their mother Elizabeth Jane Hutson. She died 1892. Benjamin M Butterworth married Eliza Ann Stephenson (nee Winstone, father William Winstone) 1894. Harold was their first child together.
