  • Served with Kayforce 1951-52

"The men of the Workshops Platoon were particularly comfortable, being able to use their facilities to build a shower unit, frames for mosquito nets, and other amenities, as well as putting electric lighting in their tents. They were close to the Imjin, and during summer were able to swim regularly. Steps were taken to minimize the risks after a tragedy on 23 June, when Driver Boyce Whangapirita got into difficulties while swimming across the river and drowned."
