DIED OF WOUNDS - MAORI BATTALION OFFICER (0.C.) ROTORUA. Sunday
Reported to have died of wounds, Second-Lieutenant Te Wharekiri Glenville Rogers was 29 years of age. He was born in Rotorua and received his secondary education at the Dannevirke High School, where he was outstanding at sports, He later played Rugby football for Hawke's Bay colts. Before he joined the Army he was for some time joint manager with his wife, of the Tikitere Thermal Region. He relinquished a commission in the territorials ' to go overseas. He was first wounded last December and, on rejoining the | Maori Battalion, was commissioned in the field. He is survived by his wife and two children. One of his brothers was killed in action in North Africa and the other is serving in Italy
