  • To whom it may concern,

I am the great grand daughter of Charles Lyall Cornelius.

I am serving in the regular force NZ Army (since 2008) as a Dental Assistant and would be happy to provide any family or other sources more information.

I visited in 2015 the memorial at lone pine and saw name on the roll of honour in Turkey. This was a very emotional and humbling experience for me.

Charles got my great grand mother pregrant prior to him leaving timaru in 1914. So he never got a chance to meet my grandfather Robert John (Jack) Jones. He married my grandmother Mary in Hastings and they had 9 children whom of which most live in Hastings. My father is Gary Charles Jones, mother Alice and brother Adam.

    Thank you,
