    • George Griffiths was the son of Mrs. G. J. Miller (nee Griffiths), of Hope, Nelson, New Zealand. Born at Auckland. Served in Egypt, 1916. and on the Western Front, 1916-17. AWMM
    • Rifleman George GRIFFITHS NZEF Service # 25/540; Rifleman, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 3rd Battalion. NZEF. Born Auckland, New Zealand. Son of Mrs G.J Miller (formerly Griffiths) - of Hope, Nelson District. Prior to enlistment for war service George Griffiths was a Farmer - at Hope, Nelson. George Griffiths enlisted for war service on 11 October 1915 - at Nelson. On 3 February 1916 he left New Zealand for overseas war service. Rifleman Griffiths served at Egypt (1916) and France & Belgium (1916-1917). Rifleman Griffiths was wounded in action at France (1916) and Belgium (1917). He was medically invalided to New Zealand, following war wounds received at Belgium, aboard HT 'Marama' - arriving New Zealand 21 November 1918. He was discharged from the NZEF on 22 March 1918. The following year - on 17 November 1918 - George Griffiths died at Murchison - of Influenza during the New Zealand Influenza epidemic. He was 21 years of age. George Griffiths is buried at Murchison Cemetery, State Highway 6, Murchison, Tasman. Public - Jenifer - Researcher - 2 February 2020 - Military File : Archway (National Archives of New Zealand).
