  • Served with Kayforce 1954-55. Died as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on 16 October 1955.

    "By the time the company [10 Company, RNZASC] was formally disbanded on 15 May 1956, its total task 'mileage' in Korea had topped the 9.6 million kilometre mark. It had also suffered one further casualty: Driver H.L. Humm died as a result of injuries he sustained in an accident on 16 October 1955." McGibbon 1996, vol. 2, p. 358.

    Formerly buried at the United Nations Cemetery, Pusan, Korea. Returned to New Zealand as part of the Te Auraki Repatriation Project and buried at Ruru Lawn Cemetery, Christchurch. AWMM

  • My Uncle Lester was brought home to New Zealand on 7th October 2018 as part of the NZ Govt/NZDF Te Auraki Project.He was handed over to us,his Family and we interred him at the Ruru Lawn Cemetery,Serviceman's Section on Wednesday 10th October 2018 with due ceremony.
