    • EVERY MAN WANTED.
Lieut. Turu Hiroti, of Wanganui, who left with the First Maori Expeditionary Force, returned yesterday looking very well, indeed. Lieut. Hiroti, when interviewed by a "Chronicle" representative, state that as with other members of the Expeditionary Forces he was severely restricted in regard to his utterances. Our representative, however, was successful in obtaining from him one or two statements of interest to the community at large. Lieut. Hiroti was with the Maori Contingent right in the midst of the great attack in which the Maoris gained such great kudos. It was a severe test and any doubts as to what they were capable of doing was soon set at rest. They attacked magnificently and they were well worthy of the splendid reports which had since come to hand. They have made a great name in the firing line. Lieut. Hiroti states also that there is every necessity for every man possible preparing to go to the Front. The next reinforcements, both English and Maori will be much welcomed. Lieut. Hiroti is on leave for ten days, after which he is to report himself at Wellington for "special duties." • Captain Turu Hiroti, M.C., of Wangaehu, who left with the Main Body Maori Contingent, is returning on the Athenic, which is due in Wellington on 23rd inst. Captain Hiroti has seen considerable service in Gallipoli and France. The local natives are preparing to entertain him at Aotea Hall, Putiki, and the local chiefs, Takarangi Mete Kingi and Mete Takarangi are moving in the matter.
