The man seated in military uniform is believed to be Pehiatea Akuhata (Percy August) Kotua who is thought to have been a fisherman in Nelson before World War One. These two men were brothers. The lady holding a baby is thought to be Sophia Ngahopi Kotua (nee Warena), the wife of Pehiatea Akuhata Kotua. The baby is thought to be "Joey" Ngamamae (Josephine) Kotua. Kotua.
