    Named his daughter Derna, after the Libyan village where Bully heard of her birth, he did not see her until his return from war and Derna was aged 4

    Sometime treasurer for the Battalion after the war

    In 1975 he toured the battle sites

    In 1989 travelled to take part in Tainui Steven's television documentary Maori Battalion : March to victory (1990)

    Two sons, brothers served in WW2 Sydney Freyberg Jackson (25892) and Everard Stanley Jackson (65534), an All Black. AWMM
