  • Served three years as Chaplain to the 28th Battalion during the Second World War.

    A copy of a letter relating to Sergeant Harawira is in the manuscript collection of the Auckland War Memorial Museum Library. MS 2004/89.

    His father, Takimoana Harawira, was honoured with commemoration on a memorial in Te Kao, but did not serve. AWMM
