    • Wiremu Patara Rangi was the son of Wharetini Rangi and Rotu Numia Rangi of Ruatoki. His father served as a Padre in the 28 (Maori) Battalion. He was Rev. Captain Wharetini Rangi.

      His brother Lance Corporal Teua Numia Rangi of the 28 (Maori) Battalion was killed in action on 24 December 1943. His brother Renata Rangi also served in the 28 (Maori) Battalion. AWMM

  • I always go to Dawn Parade Dad as that was our last gathering in Whakatane the same year your passed away. I miss you still to this day and am so proud of you always for your contribution to our beautiful New Zealand. Arohanui from your daughter Muna and son in law Gordon.
