    He is commemorated on the bell Beaumont Hamel given by Norman Gordon De Cent and Marjorie L.F. De Cent for the National War Memorial Carillon, Wellington. Hugh Edward Wood is commemorated on the same bell.

    • The sad advice that Capt. K. O. De Cent had died of wounds on 12th, has been received by his father, Mr J. T. De Cent. 3S Lytton road, Capt. De Cent left with the 13th reinforcements and had a successful military career, being twice promoted on the field, receiving his captaincy in September last. He was prior to his enlistment, secretary manager of the Co-operative Meat Company He was also an athlete, being identified with athletic sports of all descriptions.
