Roy Devon, aged 46, was fatally injured when he was struck by a goods train- on the harbour bridge and hurled into the harbour. Devon was walking across the bridge and met the engine on a bend of the bridge, and before he had time to move he was struck. The accident was witnessed by several, who went to Devon’s assistance in boats. He was taken from the water and ordered to hospital, but died on the journey. He is survived by his wife, and parents, who live at Maketu. Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 11 April 2024 - STRUCK BY TRAIN
