  • Husband of Delia Christina Freitas, of Warwick House, 8, Bartley St., Sydney, New South Wales.

    He died when the RMS Leinster was sunk by a German submarine in October 1918 in Dublin Bay. RMS Leinster was sunk without warning by a torpedo fired from a German submarine (UB123) 7 miles ESE from Kish Light Vessel. 176 [crew] including the Master were lost. The total loss of life was 501. There were 256 survivors who were taken to Dun Laoghaire (then known as Kingstown). AWMM
