- Obituary
- An inquest was held to-day concerning the death of the native, Rangi Tana Mika, who was found dead at Ruatoki shot through the heart. Constable CLIST, in evidence, said he visited the scene of the tragedy and made investigations in deceased's house. He found a note written by deceased in Maori, the translation of which indicated that Mika intended to take his own life. The coroner returned a verdict that deceased died as a result of a gunshot wound in the chest, the wound being self-inflicted.Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 3 July 2024 - NEW ZEALAND HERALD, VOLUME LXIV, ISSUE 19588, 17 MARCH 1927, PAGE 12
