  • I am one of many great grandchildren of Pte Hautonga Te Oraiti Ngatai. My mother is Maryann Akuhata, her mother was Te Rauwaina Ngatai and her parents were Pte Hautonga Te Oraiti Ngatai and Hinepukohurangitehoangaronoa Mauheni. Message to Pte Hautonga Ngatai, thank you for fighting for me and the rest of us to enable us to be able to live freely. I will love you always. x
