  • My husband and I visited your grave in 2013. I think we have been the first whanau(family) from NZ that have had the opportunity to visit. It was a very overwhelming experience and we cried from the time we walked into the cemetery and more so when we found your grave and looked at your age and the ages of those around you. So young and lying in the soil in another country which was even harder to bare but we know that the local people look after the cemetery so well and the taxi driver that took us to the cemetery has laid a wreath on your grave the last two years - bless him. We are all very proud of you and your brother Piauau King (Kingi). It seems in the army your surname was shortened to King from Kingi. We heard that Piauau went to live in England after the war and was never heard of again. So your family lost two boys.... We are coming to visit you again with more fami
