  • My mother was your sister, Te Rereaute Cockery Kewa's daughter - Ngawai Kewa Brown. You lived with us for a number of years so I remember you very well as being tall and very fair. I would often come and talk to you when I got home from school or 'call in' to see you because we had to go past your bedroom to the outside toilet. Then one day you were gone!

  • My mum who was your oldest grand-daughter spoke of you often when I was very young, your contribution to the Boar War as she remembered it which I know now is actually WW1. Proud of you she was and this inspired her to join the army when WW2 came even though she was not of enlistment age and would eventually get found out. Wish I could have met you though I will never forget you proud you were an ANZAC prouder you were my great grandfather, Lest We Forget.......
