    PRIVATE J F McCARTHY, -
    Privato Justin F. McCarthy (Wellington Battalion, killed in action), left Gisborne. on August 10th. He was a Napier boy, about 25 years of age, and had several years' experience under the old volunteer system. He went to Gisborne in the early part of last year, and worked for Mr W. Findlay up to the time he went away. He had two brothers in Gisborne —Messrs C. McCarthy and J. McCarthy—and two sisters at Matawai —Mrs Mottran. and Miss M. McCarthy.
