    • Edward McConnon was the son of David and Hannah McConnon, of Camerons, Greymouth, New Zealand. Native of Kumara. AWMM
    • Edward was killed in France on Christmas Day 1917. The previous day Edward had gone to buy a ring for his sweetheart in New Zealand. He was lost in battle and his name is commemorated on the memorial at Polygon Wood in Belgium. His comrades searched the battlefield for the ring, or any traces from the ring, to return to his sweetheart, but were unable to find any.
