  • I'm a grand niece of Rutene Ngaronoa (aka Uncle Lou). A friend showed me a picture of him and I knew we were connected but didn't know how until my Aunty sent me this link to the 28th Maori Battalion. Kia moe ki te anahera a koutou tae noa ki te whakatau ia tatou. My dad the late Eruera (aka Motu) Ngaronoa spoke fondly of Uncle Lou so now I know who he is. Gone but never forgotten.
