    Marched in to 4th Reserve Bn, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, Sling Camp, 6 November 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 13 December 1917; joined Pioneer Bn, in the field, 6 January 1918.
    Detached to Divisional Lewis Gun School, 1 May 1918; rejoined Bn, in the field, 17 May 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board SS 'Westmoreland', 28 February 1919; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of illness contraced on Active Service), 11 November 1919.
    Total war service: 2 years 219 days (of which 1 year 256 days was abroad)
