i Ula. Throwing club. i Ula are carved from the rootstock of a hardwood tree. It is intended as a weapon that can be gripped in the hand or thrown in short range distances at assailants. This i Ula is relatively light weight and consists of a ball-shaped head and a short slim handle. Its head is peaked with a slight depression at one side. A small puncture, crack and natural dent are all visible on the top area of the head. The handle is round in section and flares slightly outwards towards the butt, which is convex. The i Ula is a dark brown colour and has a glossy patina.
