i Roi

human history

i Roi. Fly whisk. Made from composite materials. The i Roi consists of a long cylindrical liga ni i roi (handle) carved from kau (wood) that is round in section and dark brown in colour, and a whisk made from magimagi (coconut sennit). The handle's surface is highly polished. The butt of the handle is carved to a rough-hewn blunt point. Braided magimagi is wrapped around the handle in two places towards the top of the handle where the base of the whisk is. The magimagi is red-brown in colour and is braided from the attachment on the top of the liga ni i roi then is left loose the rest of the lengths.
