Ua
Ua. Staff. This is a ua made from one piece of wood. The wood is a dark brown colour with a smooth surface. The ua is oblong shaped with a rounded base. The opposite end of the ua is carved to form a head. The head is carved with two faces. The features on the face are very detailed with two sets of eyes. The eyes would usually be inlay with shark bone and obsidian however the sets of eyes on this ua are not. The ua was held only by leaders of the community. Ua were very important as they provided spiritual protection for the leaders.
