flute stopper
Carved flute stopper that features a joined human body and bird form that creates an elongated oval shape on side profile. One angle shows an elongated ‘mask-like’ face with distinct features emphasising the nose, point cheeks, circular eyes and protruding ears. The top of the head continues on to the neck and head of a bird with two circular ‘ear’ like features on the side of the birds neck with carved out eyes and nose. The bird’s beak creates the curve at the top which then continues down the other side and feature an elongated male body form with a defined n emphasis on the male genitals. The protruding belly with the upper chest & neck creates the curve at the bottom of the carved feature which then continues on to the elongated mask-like face.
