Penu. Stone pounder. This penu (pounder) is worked and smoothed from ofa'i (stone). It has a circular base, slightly chipped at the edges with a convex pounding surface. The shaft of the penu is round in section an flares outwards towards the base. The penu is topped with a ridged grip. The penu is grey in colour. A faded red sticker is adhered to one side.
