Te a. Mesh gauge. This is a tool used in knotting fish nets. It is made of wood. It is rectangular in shape and flat in form. The sides that are short in length adjacent to each other curve into blunt corners. It has been cut from wood and then filed into its form. The top surface features a linear furrow, three small cavities in varied sizes and dark brown burnished marks. The opposite side features wide linear, dark brown marks that run horizontal to its shape. The wood is golden and brown in colour.
