Te bure ni bai

Te bure ni bai. Waist band. This is made up of three components: te nana (coconut shell discs), sea shell discs and te kora (cordage of coconut fibre). It is worn around the neck as part of body adornment. This is usually worn by women and young girls. This bure ni bai is very long and it has alternating brown te nana and off-white shell discs whereby they are strung on a kora.
