Double midrib commencement at rim. Plaited in vertical twilled threes through-out. Bottom closed with spiral of rolling braid. MP register: "Lined with red rayon as sewing basket when purchased. This was removed and padding of 'Rotorua Post' newspaper dated lining to World War 2 period (no date). Similar basket in (MP) collection is from Taumako for storing dried breadfruit."
