'Arā. Adze blade. Large in size, and carved from a single piece of ofa'i (stone). Grey in overall colour, with the back and sides of the blade, the bevel, poll and butt covered with patches of an off-white substance, possibly coral. Moderately steep bevel, with a dull cutting edge, and with the overall surface treatment left pecked. Black marking or stain visible across the back of the blade, near the bevel.
