The research will be living and working aboard NIWA's research vessel Tangaroa.

R.V. Tangaroa is New Zealand’s only ice strengthened and dynamically positioned deep-water research vessel.

Tangaroa is well-equipped for ocean science — providing a sophisticated environmental survey and ocean science platform throughout the South Pacific, Southern Ocean and Antarctica.
