Biographical information
- Corporal B. M. Watene (Oflag VI B)
Letter: 18 June
I received your parcel yesterday and believe me I am very happy about it, not because I'm short of clothing at the present time but coming from home made all the difference. I'm wearing the Mosgiel singlet today. The chocolates were very welcome, my mate and I are enjoying the eating of them very much. I received a clothing parcel from London, NZ House, like your parcel only it had more clothes in it. So you see I am far better off now than I was 12 months ago. There are 7 Maori officers here, this being an officers camp. However, there are about a couple of hundred of other ranks here doing odd jobs.
