After four long years of German occupation, on the 4th of November 1918, the citizens of Le Quesnoy were finally freed by soldiers of the New Zealand Rifle Brigade. Join our speakers Celia Caughey, Jude Dobson, Dr Nathalie Philippe, Gail Romano and Andrew Thomas as they share their experiences from the creation of the New Zealand Liberation Museum - Te Arawhata, opened in October 2023. Opening in October, Auckland Museum will celebrate the Mana newspaper, a community run newspaper published from 1977 to 1978 with content in 7 Pacific languages including Māori, and in English. Join curators Andrea Low, Paula Legel and Wanda Ieremia-Allan as they introduce AMI Members to the exhibition.

Historically, asbestos was used in a wide range of household, commercial and industrial applications but is now banned in most countries due to now known health consequences. Join Dr Dan Blanchon as he discusses the research and efforts into dealing with this deadly legacy.
